Ink is leaking or flowing back

If ink is leaking or flowing back from the pen nib, please check the pen nib you are using. It is not related to the structure of the Neo Smart Pen.

Please note that ink backflow may occur when writing while holding a notebook or lying down.

The included Zebra, Schmidt, and Ramie pen nibs are common industrial products.
If it is deemed to be defective, please contact the customer support center of NeoLab Convergence.

My battery is draining too fast

Depending on the time of purchase and usage, battery performance may degrade.

If the battery performance has deteriorated to the point where it is uncomfortable to use, please contact the NeoLab Convergence Support Center.

Please contact NeoLab Convergence's customer support for battery check or replacement with a new battery.

Pen makes rattling sound.

The sound is caused by the Neo Smartpen's pressure sensor contacting the pen nib,
or by a gap between the power button and the device.

Please note that this is a natural part of the hardware design of the Neo SmartPen.

App Issue (Neo Studio)

If you can't see your handwriting on the app

If your handwriting with the Neo Smart Pen does not appear in the Neo Studio app, please check the following.

① Make sure you're using a Neo Smartpen-only digital paper (Ncode only) notebook.
② Ncode PDF printouts may not be recognized depending on the print quality.
③ Check the Bluetooth connection between the device with the Neostudio app installed and the smart pen. Generally, if the LED on the pen stays green, it is connected normally.
④ If there is any foreign matter on the recognition sensor under the pen core, gently remove it with a cotton swab.
⑤ Make sure the LED lamp is green.
If the LED lamp is yellow, please check if the app is connected.
(If you write offline, some data can be saved, but we recommend using it while connected to the app for safe data management).
⑥ Recognition results may not be good when used outdoors or under strong direct sunlight or infrared lamps. Please check in a normal indoor environment.

How to separate overwrapping notes

If you're using the same type of notes and forms, you can toggle Smartpen in and out of unused notebooks, but if you don't, your handwriting may overlap.
If you're having trouble with overlapping handwriting, try the following methods.

1. Use <Split> to separate data
You can use the <Split> function to separate handwriting data based on the time interval between handwriting.
If the interval between handwriting and handwriting is 10 minutes or more, the data is automatically divided into sections, and you can select and separate the handwriting data by unit.

① Launch the Neostudio app and select the [Menu] button on the top right of the page with overlapping handwriting.
② Select [Split] from the menu.
③ On the [Split] page, select a section of the overlapping data from the slide bar at the bottom.
④ Click the [Move] button on the top right, select the notebook you want to move the handwritten data to, and click the [OK] button to move the handwritten data. (Data marked in red will be moved and separated.)
⑤ You can check the moved handwriting data in the moved notebook.

The <Split> function is only available for physical notebooks that store handwriting on digital paper.

2. Separating data with Pen Data Movement History
The <Pen Data Movement History> feature allows you to separate your handwriting data based on the number of times it was moved from the Neo Smartpen to the app.

The <Pen Data Movement History> feature allows you to check the history of handwriting data moved from the Neo Smartpen to the app when the Neo Smartpen is not connected to the app, and the history of handwriting data moved to the app when the NeoSmartpen is connected to the app.
You can select and separate the handwriting data by the number of times you moved the handwriting data from the Neo Smartpen to the app.

① Launch the Neo Studio app and select [My Studio...] on the bottom right of the screen.
② Select the [Pen Settings] button at the top.
③ Select [Pen Data Movement History] at the bottom of the [Pen Settings] page.
④ Select the desired item from the list by date when the pen data was moved.
Select a page with overlapping handwriting from the list of pages where handwriting data was moved, and then click [Separate data] in the upper right corner. (Data marked in red will be moved and separated.)
⑥ Select a notebook to separate the handwriting data and click the [OK] button to separate the handwriting data.
⑦ You can check the handwriting data moved from the separated notebook.
